“Stranger Things” one of the most watched shows on Netflix has come to an end. With five seasons in total, the directors have decided this is going to be the last season. On November 26, 2025 the first four episodes were released.
The stars of the show have expressed their feelings towards this final season.
The main stars were really young when the show started. Now all of them are in their early 20s. In recent interviews, the actors talked about their feelings towards the last season. In an interview with Associated Press, Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, said, “It definitely took a lot of work on myself to say goodbye to a version of myself that I really deeply valued and loved.” It’s understandable for Brown to feel this way; she was only 12 years old when she filmed season one. Now she is 21, married, and has a child.
Other actors, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, and Gaten Matarazzo shared similar thoughts as Brown in an interview with Associated Press. Sink said that the hardest part is that they are not going to be in the same set again, which is sad since they’ve known each other for nearly a decade.
The directors Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are also feeling the same way as the actors, as they watched them go from kids to adults. “This show allowed us to say everything we wanted to say about growing up and what it felt like for us as kids with our friends in North Carolina,” said Matt Duffer. The whole cast expressed good feelings towards them; they see them as parental figures, since the brothers protected and showed them love throughout the whole five seasons.
Winona Ryder who plays Will Byer’s mother, Joyce, was recently interviewed by Josh Horowitz about this final season, where she talked about how she felt the past seasons, and how she feels towards the young actors. “Those kids are really special. Netflix is so lucky to have them and they are what made this show what it is.” She also added that she sees the whole cast and crew as a family, which makes the separation more emotional.
The actors and creators aren’t the only ones feeling nostalgic about the end of the show. Hampton Bays High School teacher Ms. Andriano said, “I am feeling sad, but excited to see how it ends. I started the show the summer I was entering college and now I have been working as a teacher for almost four years. It is crazy to think about that timeline.”
Students have also been following the end of the series and gave their opinion about the first four episodes that came out. “I think the episodes were really good and interesting,” said Allizon Sagastume.
Sophomore Camilla Powers said, “I liked how they made Will the main character. They focused more on him this season than the ones before.”
Both of them and sophomore Lilly Bellingham added that they think that the episodes that are coming out in December are going to be more worth it than the ones that were released in November. They also added that they are feeling sad this is the last season because they’ve been watching it since they were little.
Not everybody was overwhelmed by the first episodes of the season. Mr. Perez, a Bilingual Social Studies teacher said that he found that the first episodes were kind of boring. He has waited for so long to watch this season that now he feels obligated to watch it.
Regardless of how people feel about the final season, hopefully they can take something away from the series as it wraps up. Ms. Andriano said, “I hope that the themes of friendship and growing up together resonate most with the teenage audience. The kids in the show have gone through unspeakable traumas and still remain the best of friends. Though at times their friendships were tested through things like distance (Will moving to California) or making new friends (Max’s entrance), they still remain strong together.”
