Six New Games Coming Out This Spring

Spring 2023 sees the releases of several new video games, here’s a look at just a few of the most exciting titles set to release sometime within the next few weeks:

The first game on our list is “Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened”. A nerve-racking adventure featuring the legendary duo of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in their first ever case, battling elder gods from the infamous Cthulhu-Mythos as imagined by author H.P. Lovecraft. “Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened” was developed by Frogwares, a Ukrainian company whose main office has been standing strong in Kyiv throughout the entirety of the Russian invasion. “Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened” released April 11 on all platforms with an age rating of Teen for depictions of blood and violence.

The next game is “Megaman Battle Network: Legacy Edition”, a remaster of all 10 mainline games in the beloved series. Where players take the role of Lan Hikari and his virtual companion Megaman in the battle against futuristic cybercrimes. The collection released April 14 on PC, Playstation 4, and Nintendo Switch with an age rating of Everyone 10+ for fantasy violence, suggestive themes, mild language, use of tobacco, and crude humor.

The third game releasing this spring is “Minecraft Legends”. This action-strategy game from the developers of “Minecraft” and “Minecraft Dungeons” sees the players take the role of a mysterious hero sent to unite and defend the Overworld from an invasion from the Piglin Army from hell-like Nether dimension. The game features both solo and cooperative play, as well as a competitive multiplayer option. The game releases April 18 on all platforms, rated Everyone 10+ for fantasy violence.

The fourth game is “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor”, the sequel to the beloved game by EA, “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order”, where players race the evil Empire across the galaxy to a secret list of force-sensitive children. In this game, players return to the journey of Cal Kestis, played by Cameron Monaghan, as he now fights against the Empire as a Jedi Knight. The game will be releasing April 28 for PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X & Series S, with an age rating of Teen.

The second to last game for our list is “Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”, the next installment in the “Legend of Zelda” series. It continues the story of “Breath of the Wild” as you cross the kingdom of Hyrule filled with new monstrous enemies, new places to explore, and a whole new set of abilities to traverse it with, recently shown off in a gameplay trailer released by Nintendo and presented the producer of the Legend of Zelda Series, Eiji Aonuma. “Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” will be releasing May 12 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch with an age rating of Everyone 10+ for fantasy violence and mild suggestive themes.

The final game we’ll be taking a look at “Street Fighter 6”, the newest entry in the “Street Fighter” series, featuring beloved reacquiring characters such as Ryu and Chun-Li. Developer Capcom has stated that this game will be “a new era of Street Fighter”. “Street Fighter 6” will be releasing June 2 for PC, Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox series S with a Teen age rating for violence, mild blood, suggestive themes, language, and use of tobacco and alcohol.
