A Step into the Future of Gaming
January 1, 2021
The future of gaming is now. The release of the new Xbox Series X is a change for this industry. With the Series X running on 12 Teraflops, it is the most powerful Xbox to date and the 120 GHz gives the smoothest gaming experience on a console. The true 4k gaming the Series X offers will make you feel like you are stepping into your own alternate reality. The standard storage for the Series X is 825GB, but with the addition of an external SSD, you can get a boost to 1TB which can satisfy all of your gaming needs.
The new controller has been revised to better suit every type of hand that uses it, with better texture on the joysticks and triggers to lessen your hand from slipping. A full circle on the D-pad makes it easier to maneuver your decisions, which can give you the upper hand on your opponent.
Although the shape of the new console may seem a little weird, there is a reason for this. According to Microsoft, the developers behind the new Xbox, “The Xbox Parallel Cooling Architecture is built with three airflow channels that evenly distribute the temperatures generated by the advanced internal components, keeping the console cool and quiet.” To sum it up, this beast of a machine remains quiet and keeps the console at a temperature where it does not explode in your face if used for a long period of time.
The Xbox Series X is so much faster than its predecessor, the Xbox One. There are games such as Assassin’s Creed that used to take a long time to load because of how big the game is in open-world, but on the Xbox Series X the load time has been significantly cut down. Gamers can be relieved that they don’t have to wait for what seems like an eternity for the game to load.
This sounds like a dream right? The one catch is that you need to have the correct monitor or TV that can actually support what the Xbox Series X has to offer.
After using it for about a week now, I can say the Xbox Series X does live up to its name. Games have been a lot smoother, it loads without fail, and the sound it produces when in use is minimal, which makes it even better for those who are night owls.
I give this console a 9/10. It is worth its price tag of $499 because of the performance it gives after long hours in use. There are small things here and there that could be fixed, but since it is a new console there will be updates in the coming months to fix these technical issues.
